Delete your Storymood account

You can delete your Storymood account at any time. There are two ways, and they remove different things — please read both.
Option 1 — In the app
- Open Storymood
- Tap Profile in the bottom bar
- Open the ⋮ menu at the top right, then Settings
- Scroll to Account Management and tap Delete Account
- Confirm, then confirm with Google that it is your account
This happens immediately and cannot be undone. If you cancel the Google confirmation, nothing is deleted.
What Option 1 removes straight away
- Your sign-in account (you can no longer log in)
- Your profile: display name, profile photo, bio, followers and following
- Your email address, saved posts, blocked accounts and notifications
- You, from the followers of the accounts you follow
What Option 1 leaves behind
Posts, comments and replies you wrote stay published, along with the display name and photo attached to them at the time. Images you uploaded for posts remain stored. Your username stays reserved and cannot be taken by anyone else.
If you want that content removed as well, use Option 2.
Option 2 — Full removal by email
Email support@storymood.in from the email address you used to sign in, with the subject “Delete my Storymood account”.
You do not need the app installed to do this. We will remove your account and all of the content listed below, and confirm by reply, within 30 days.
What Option 2 removes
- Everything in Option 1, plus:
- All posts you created
- All comments and replies you wrote
- All images you uploaded
- Your likes and follows
- Your username reservation, freeing the name for others
What we keep, and why
- Aggregated, anonymous statistics such as total post counts. These cannot identify you.
- Moderation records, such as reports and actions taken on accounts that broke our rules. We keep these to protect the community and prevent ban evasion, and delete them 12 months after they are made or resolved.
- Daily Magic AI counts: your account ID, a date and a number, kept so that the daily limit cannot be reset.
- Anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires.
Backups may hold copies for a short period before they expire.
